well at least it is here in san antonio..... where we usually spend most of the winter feeling like fall just runs into spring with a day here and there of winter.  but this year it was rather chilly for longer than we are used to.  yes we are big wusses when it comes to cold weather. lol.

i do think that spring is my favorite season.  everything starts to turn my favorite color... green.  and the birds are chirping and the air smells nice and is just the right temperature.  i need to go to the used book store and stock up on my romance novels so i can lounge on the bench outside and read while the kiddos play. aaaaahhhhh.

i have been painting alot too. see spring inspires me. lol.  soon the shoppe will be all a flutter with the touchings of easter and spring.  stay tuned in for specials and new arrivals there.

i am so bad about getting pictures off of my camera.  lol

 

these are pictures of a bathroom mural i did at the end of this summer.  i was very excited and very proud of this job because 1. it was my first adult mural to do and 2. because it just came out sooo good. lol.  yeah me... pat on the back.

as you can see from the pictures its a huge garden tub and my friend lori just hated how bland it was.  well except for the enormous mirror right beside the tub.  i mean who doesnt want that right. lol.  Lori loves the asian style and the garden scene picked out from a small photo that i enlarged onto the wall.  and i adore the cherry tree that wraps around the other end of the tub.  these are the before and after shots.

 

there is just less than one month before valentine's day.  i will patiently await for my boxed chocolate's..... my desire for any type of romantic gesture.  mmmmm.... chocolate

anyway...........  back to my new thing. 

 

first i was inspired by the tutu.  then came devinely adorned hearts....... waterlillies........ ribbons........ now alice in wonderland characters.  this will all be added to the splendid cards section...... at least for now.

my newest project should be finished by the end of next week.  i am painting three rooms in our childrens dept at church.  i will have some helpers roughing in color but i still have to do all the detail.  i dont think we could get it done over spring break if i didnt have helpers.  i hope this works out.  usually i get into a real control freak mode when working on projects.  i need to learn to let things go lol.

as many of you know i started out with my mural business last year called splendid murals.   but i have since then been inspired to encompass many other forms of art.  my most recent being a line of post cards.  i still love to do murals and faux finishes and traditional fine art pieces too.  so check back to keep up with my work or contact me if you would like to commission some work.
